Nyaungshwe
posted in 3 Weeks in Myanmar
From Bagan we went by bus (JJ Express) 8 hours to Nyaung Shwe, to Inle Lake. We sat down in the "The French Touch", which is well known among backpackers. It serves French food and every night at 19:30, a self-made film about a monk is shown by the owner. We took a boat trip. If you want to do that, I advise you not to book anything about a hotel or agency, but go to the boat dock and look for a boat driver there. The advantage: You can negotiate and you can tell the boat driver what you want to see. We paid 18,000 MMK for the whole day for the boat (for 2 persons). The boats have relatively comfortable chairs and sometimes umbrellas (against the sun). You should take sunscreen and some water anyway!
